Epilogue
As I write this it's raining and cool. Fitting weather to write a summation of the series.
So what makes a person commit to running 27 of arguably the most difficult New England races set in one years time?
You.
I made a vow to myself to run every race and give you a free pass into my thoughts.
Why though? Why would I do this? I guess it's a kind of therapy for me.
Right from the start of the series I was determined to run and report what I truly felt while jumping in feet first into the unknown waters of this competition.
Avid readers have come forward clearly worried after reading the Montpelier write-up.
You know what? Everyone was (and is) supportive of the this effort and again I can't thank you enough for your friendship.
Without you I wouldn't have even put on my running shoes.
To everyone I've met along the way, it was about forming lasting friendships and having a great time doing it.
Yeah, if you asked me at mile nine of the Pack Monadnock race or mile 22 of the second Marathon in six days, why am I doing this, I might have given you a different answer. But it was all worth it cause at the finish line you were there bloody and beaten with me.
I just want to say thank you to everyone I've met in the series and I look forward to seeing you, my warrior friends, again in some godforsaken corner of New England ready to do battle at the start of another series.
